Academic and non-academic staff
Are you a teacher, researcher or administrative staff member from a foreign university? Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne welcomes international academic and non-academic staff within the framework of specific programmes.
Visiting professor programme
Every year, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne welcomes more than 130 professors from foreign institutions, as part of its visiting professor programme.
During your stay (from one week to four weeks), you will have to teach, conduct research, lead conferences, develop exchanges between Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and your institution and/or set up any other educational or scientific project.
How to apply
In order to be invited to teach at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, you need to find a hosting professor who will present your application to the advisory board (CCS) of his/her academic department. To do so, you will need to send him/her a detailed CV mentioning your home institution.
The list of visiting professors and the duration of their stay are drawn up on the proposal of the advisory board, and after the decision of the academic board (CAC restreint). If your application is accepted, your hosting professor will be in charge of the follow-up of your stay.
Once you have been accepted
You will receive an invitation letter once you have been accepted. To prepare your stay as well as possible, we encourage you to get in touch with the International Relations Department as soon as possible, which will be in charge of paying your flat-rate compensation. This compensation will partially cover your expenses during your stay (accommodation and food costs).
Visiting professorship programme
If your home institution has signed an Erasmus+ agreement with Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, you have the possibility to carry out a training or teaching mobility within our university as part of the European programme.
Whether you want to apply for a teaching or training staff mobility, we encourage you to get in touch with a teacher, researcher or an administrative staff member from one of our departments to initiate your mobility project. If you are selected, you can apply for an Erasmus+ grant from your home institution.
With a strong willingness to develop the internationalisation of its staff, our university has signed agreements to develop training mobilities with 112 of its 213 Erasmus+ partners. Please note that academic staff members are also eligible for training mobilities.

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project
The Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project also offers mobility opportunities to foreign teachers, researchers and administrative staff members who wish to visit Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Our university has signed agreements with eight institutions in four countries:
- South Africa (University of Cape Town)
- Guinea (Université Gamal Abdel Nasser de Conakry, Université Général Lansana Conté de Sonfonia, Université Kofi Annan de Guinée)
- Tunisia (Université de la Manouba, Université de Sfax, Université de Tunis, Université de Tunis El Manar)
- Ukraine (National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy")
We encourage you to ask your home institution for information on how to apply. Once your mobility project has been validated by your home institution, get in touch with the International Relations Department of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne to find out how to complete the necessary procedures before your departure.
If you are selected for a mobility in this framework, you will automatically receive the MIC grant. This grant includes individual support (€160 per day for 5 days of mobility and 2 days of travel) and a travel allowance which depends on the distance between Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and your home institution (€1,500 for South Africa, €820 for Guinea, €275 for Tunisia and €360 for Ukraine). These amounts are the same whether you are applying for a staff mobility for teaching or training.
