Europa-Universität Viadrina delegation visits Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne welcomed a delegation from Europa-Universität Viadrina on 12th and 13th September 2018, following the election of Prof. Dr. Julia von Blumenthal as the new President of the German university in May 2018.
Prof. Dr. Julia von Blumenthal is a Professor of Political Science at Humboldt-Universität and has been Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Education since April 2014. She will take office as the new President of Europa-Universität Viadrina on 1st October 2018.
She was accompanied by the current President of Europa-Universität Viadrina, Prof. Dr. Stephan Kudert, to meet with the President of Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Pr Georges Haddad, at the International Relations Department. Representatives from both universities had discussions over their very close cooperation, especially in the framework of the "Pensées Françaises Contemporaines" programme. This meeting was also an opportunity to talk about visiting professors and joint PhDs between the two European institutions.
Prior to this discussion, delegates also met with their counterparts from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne at the European Centre for Sociology and Political Science (CESSP) and the Centre Panthéon to explore multiple topics including the European New School for Digital Studies (ENS) project and a joint Master’s degree in philosophy.
