Paris Summer Institute’s 25th anniversary
Co-sponsored by the Sorbonne Law School and Cornell Law School since 1993, the Paris Summer Institute is a five-week academic programme in English in international and comparative law.
Every year, a group of law students from all over the world are selected to study at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, which provides the Summer Institute’s campus. In 2017, 33 students from 13 countries were selected to attend the summer school.
With an emphasis on international law and institutions as well as U.S. and other legal systems in a comparative context, courses in 2018 will include case studies in International Human Rights, European Union Law, International Labor Law and Corporate Governance with lecturers from both Cornell Law School and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University as well as international guest lecturers. In addition to a broad range of courses, optional French language classes can be taken.
This programme also provides a great opportunity for career advancement, personal development and networking on a global level in a culturally rich environment. Private guided tours to the Palais de Justice, the Conseil d’Etat, the French National Assembly, the French Senate and other key places of the French legal system are also planned as part of this summer school.
