Partners & networks

As a result of the university’s close and long-standing ties with a large number of foreign universities and participation in international networks, the internationalisation of teaching and research is continually growing and strengthening. Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University strives to provide researchers and students with unique opportunities to interact with a broad and global network of partners.

Partners

Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University has around 290 partner institutions in 66 countries, covering all five continents. The aim of this cooperation is to implement the mobility of students, professors and administrative staff members, or joint research, and thus contribute to the internationalisation of the university.

Networks and programmes

In addition to its international partners throughout the world, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University is actively involved in a large number of networks, programmes and associations, both at European and global level. These international networks give the university the opportunity to enrich its partnerships and develop new projects.

Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie

The Francophonie University Association (AUF) is a global network of 1007 French-speaking higher-education and research institutions in 119 countries.

Columbia Alliance - Columbia University, École Polytechnique, Sciences Po, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne

Founded in 2002, the Alliance Program is an innovative academic partnership between Columbia University in New York and three French institutions: Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, École Polytechnique and Sciences Po.

BCI - Quebec Student Exchange Program

The Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (formerly known as CREPUQ, Conference of Rectors and Principals of Quebec Universities) is a voluntary coalition of Québec universities.

Campus France - campusfrance.org

Campus France is the French Agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services, and international mobility.

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment consists of over 520 organisations committed to reforming research assessment.

EDUCO

EDUCO is a consortium of American institutions which includes the universities of Cornell, Duke, Emory and Tulane.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport.

EUA - European University Association

The European University Association (EUA) represents more than 800 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 48 European countries.

International Association of Universities - International Universities Bureau

The International Association of Universities, created under the auspices of UNESCO in 1950, gathers more than 640 members in 120 countries.

MICEFA

The MICEFA is an association which brings together 16 member universities in Paris and the Île-de-France region, and over 60 North American partner universities in both the United States and Canada.

Una Europa

Una Europa is an alliance of 11 European universities, including Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, which have decided to cooperate in the fields of education, training and research.

UNIMED

The Mediterranean Universities Union is an association which brings together 130 universities from 23 countries of both shores of the Mediterranean.

United Nations Academic Impact

Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne was one of the first French universities to join the UNAI, a global network of higher education institutions which support and contribute to the realisation of United Nations goals and mandates.

UNESCO - UNITWIN Network Member

Launched in 1992, the network comprises more than 830 UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN cooperation programmes in over 110 UNESCO Member States.

Université franco-allemande - Deutsch-Französische Hochschule

The Franco-German University is a network of 208 French and German higher education institutions welcoming 6,400 students every year.

Erasmus+ programme


Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University has strong European links and has been involved in the Erasmus+ programme since its launch. It is active in many European projects co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, including a project to build a European university of the future, called Una Europa.

Europe is a major strategic axis of our internationalisation policy. Improving the quality of higher education and strengthening its European connections are major challenges for Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. That is the reason why it is involved in mobility projects (Intra-European mobility, International Credit Mobility, Erasmus Mundus) and cooperation projects in the field of innovation and exchange of good practices (strategic partnerships, knowledge alliances, capacity building) and support for policy reform.
